The SIFE team of one of the SETsquared Universities awarded Rookie Champion

Enterprising students from the University of Exeter have returned victorious as the Rookie Champions at the 2012 annual Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) competition at Canary Wharf, London on 18-19 April.

48 university teams competed in the 2012 SIFE competition with 38 teams progressing through the regional rounds to the national competition to showcase their projects to a board of over 50 business professionals.

Minister for Universities and Science opens the Bristol Robotics Laboratory

The Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Minister for Universities and Science, comes to Bristol today to open the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), a partnership between the University of Bristol and UWE Bristol, and to visit the EPSRC Bristol Chemical Synthesis Centre for Doctoral Training in the University’s School of Chemistry.

The first-ever book to offer an in-depth analysis of images and objects relating to the greatest sports show on earth is published this month by an art historian at the University of Bristol.

Olympic Visions by Dr Mike O’Mahony examines a fascinating array of visual materials that have been made to advertise, celebrate or commemorate the Games, ranging from paintings, drawings and sculptures to documentary film and photographs, posters, mascots and medals.
