American Soil
A very smooth and easy couple of flights have brought the first step of my journey to an end. I have arrived in Kansas City!
It’s been a rather long day since getting up at six this morning, it’s only 10pm here in Kansas City, but back in the UK it’s 4am so I shall be rather pleased to catch up on some much needed sleep before meeting the rest of the scholars tomorrow morning.
Since arriving this evening I have been privileged to meet and have dinner with the first five of the approximately 20 Global scholars to arrive here, two Dutchies and three Americans. They are all very interesting people, each with a good story to tell and an excellent sense of humour to accompany. The evening was spent laughing over the little culture differences as the ‘foreigners’ adjusted to the American way.
Tomorrow we will be taken to the Kauffman Foundation ready for our introductions and the start of the program which begins on Tuesday. I am very much looking forward to the events to come and will keep this blog updated regularly with all that goes on.
Until then, it’s good night from a rather sleepy scholar.
