Si-light are a fabless semiconductor company and are the first to demonstrate light emission in silicon. They will now combine this world leading capability with other advanced silicon structures to produce complete photoelectronic systems entirely in silicon. This will enable customers to move away from systems manufactured using expensive and difficult to produce lll-V materials, and develop more aggressively priced mass market products based on Si- Lights silicon solutions manufactured in high volume semiconductor foundries.
