In addition to a FREE 1-year licence of Siemens Solid Edge, qualifying entrepreneurs or small businesses also receive co-marketing opportunities, business support from Siemens experts, technical support from Siemens engineers, training and access to Siemens resources, such as white papers, e-books, videos etc. The initial software provided in the Startup Programme aims to open commercial doors for these small businesses, allowing them to fully immerse themselves within the engineering industry, and gain access to the wider Siemens portfolio of products and services.

What is Solid Edge?

Siemens Solid Edge is a CAD modelling solution that incorporates mechanical and electronic capability, technical documentation, data management, and advanced simulations, all working on the same platform. This ensures you get single source contact without relying on third parties and helps you to break down the silos between your engineers. Within the Solid Edge is a graphical editing technology (called Synchronous Technology, unique to Siemens) which allows quicker innovation, faster design edits and seamless integration amongst engineers, thus reducing costs and increasing the profits for a startup.

The startup programme requirements are as follows;

• Open to design startups, product manufacture etc. who use CAD software to create a product or concept.
• The business has to be for 3 years or less (subject to adjustment depending on the startup).
• Less than £1 million in funding.
• Less than £1 million in annual revenue.
