TechSpark and the West of England Sustainable Technologies Scale-Up Programme Third Thursday: Sustainability Leadership.

Monthly gatherings to connect, think and drink or drink and think!

The West of England Sustainable Technologies Scale-up Programme have been invited to take part in a panel discussion focusing on leadership and sustainability in SMEs and start-ups.

The panelists will discuss leadership in start-ups and SMEs with a focus on sustainability. This discussion should provide some of the tools and direction required in this area.

Come along, hear from the panelists and enjoy a fun get-together!

Stephen (Steve) Wyatt is a consultant, professor and acclaimed author on the topic of leadership in rapidly changing, VUCA type contexts. He believes that the quality of leadership has a significant impact on performance and that good leadership is both holistic and responsible. His approach to leadership development is to support building the foundations of self-leadership in order to be effective in leading others and the enterprise.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Asel Sartbaeva is a Reader in Chemistry, a CEO of EnsiliTech, and a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF “Girls in Science” Program in Kyrgyzstan. She is a co-inventor and co-founder of EnsiliTech, a spin-out from the University of Bath, developing a technology to stabilise vaccines and other biologicals. Among numerous awards and accolades, she was named Woman of the Year by FDM Everywoman award in 2021.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Neil Morris, Kelpi

Neil Morris is CEO and co-founder of Bath-and Bristol-based sustainable technology scale-up Kelpi, which has pioneered a world-leading bioplastic coating made from seaweed and other plants, which is marine-safe, compostable and recyclable, and replaces fossil fuel plastics in packaging for food, drink and other sectors. He’s a serial entrepreneur, having founded or led businesses in software, marketing, online retail, and innovation consulting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rosie Bennett: Operations lead at 

Mystic AI. Previously investment lead at SETsquared and involved with a number of startups as a founder, advisor and VC associate. Professional foundation in media & technology working for Liberty Global and the BBC.

 

 

 

 

 

Emma Blunt, Director, Recognition Creative: Emma is a seasoned marketing professional with twenty years of experience of working at agencies and client side for a variety of tech and education brands. She has led the marketing team at Recognition for 8 years, delivering high-profile marketing campaigns and day to day marketing and comms activity for predominantly technology and innovation-led clients.
