Workshop overview:

This workshop will give you an overview of Innovate UK, the Governments Innovation Funding Agency, the different types of competitions they run and the support available to businesses. It will then go on to give more practical advice, hints and tips on making an application and maximising your chances of securing funding for your innovation project.

Participants:

Any business in any sector and or any size as long as they are innovating and actively pursuing new projects that will change their sector and or move technology or services forward.

Agenda:

15 – 20 mins of IUK overview and introduction to KTPs
10 minutes general principles of applying for funding
50 mins plus time for questions to walk through a typical application form and how to approach each question.

Learning objectives:

Knowledge of Innovate UK and awareness of competitions and support available to apply

Josie Gough Biography

Josie is the Regional Manager for the South West for Innovate UK. Her career has been predominantly in public sector all within the South West, from Higher Education through Local Authority and Central Government.

The previous 10 years have been spent within the SW Regional Development Agency and the Department for Communities and Local Government responsible for delivering hundreds of millions of euros to achieve economic growth and increase SME competitiveness within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as well as being the national expert for European Regional Development Funds relating to SME competitiveness.

Josie has recently returned her attention to wider South West issues and taken up a role with Innovate UK as Regional Manager for the South West.
