Exeter based tech start-ups can benefit from free incubation

Entrepreneurs, innovators and start-ups in the Exeter area have the chance to apply for free membership of the SETsquared Exeter Business Acceleration Programme.

The Programme incubates new, high-growth ventures focusing on validation, growing a team, start-up funding and investor-readiness. The SETsquared Exeter team create tailored packages of business support to help start-ups become viable, profitable and thriving businesses.

Recent funding from Research England to develop the University of Exeter Enterprise Zone means that start-ups and early stage businesses presenting a strong business case will also be offered the chance to join the SETsquared Exeter Business Foundations Programme, giving them access to:

  • One-to-one business support from the SETsquared Exeter Entrepreneurs in Residence team
  • Expert advice from commercial partners including legal, accounting, IP, insurance, grant funding and R&D Tax Credits
  • Regular workshops to support the development of a robust and sustainable business
  • Access to shared office space

In addition, member businesses will have the opportunity to access grant funding to support the recruitment of experienced business people and entrepreneurs to work directly with the business and accelerate its growth.

The SETsquared Partnership, which has incubation and acceleration centres across the South of England in Exeter, Bristol, Bath, Southampton and Surrey, has twice been named the Global #1 University Business Incubator and specialises in supporting high-growth, early-stage businesses.

Joe Pearce, Head of SETsquared Exeter explained: “The Enterprise Zone funding means we are able to offer access to the SETsquared Exeter Business Acceleration support to a wider range of start-ups and early stage businesses. The programme we have developed is really focused on helping founders achieve their goals for the business and putting in place the structures that ensure they are built to last”

Ben Voysey, Incubation and Acceleration Manager added: “Having access to this substantial new package of funding will allow us to significantly ramp up the level of support offered by SETsquared Exeter. We are looking forward to rolling out our exciting new programmes and widening our reach to engage with the next generation of tech startups in the region.
