Entrepreneurs and technology start-ups in Basingstoke are being offered the chance to take part in a world-leading entrepreneurship course that could help their businesses to grow.

SETsquared is set to hold another three-day entrepreneurship programme at its hub in Basing View in October, with a number of free places available for eligible businesses, including funded places from the UKSA.

The last training programme saw 19 entrepreneurs from the Basingstoke area learn how to bring their business ideas to life, access funding and, after impressing SETsquared with their ideas, three were chosen to be part of the Basing View hub and receive the benefits of being a SETsquared member.

Alex Cowan, CEO of RazorSecure, one of the companies that secured SETsquared mentorship after taking part in the last entrepreneurship programme, said: “With any new business there is always a steep learning curve, but SETsquared’s guidance has been invaluable to us. The team’s experience and knowledge of tech start-ups has really helped to push RazorSecure to the next level.”

Combining sessions led by experienced entrepreneurs and investors, along with taught lectures and small-group workshops, the Entrepreneurship Programme challenges delegates’ business preconceptions and equips them with the skills, contacts and confidence they need to optimise their chances of start-up success.

It includes training on market analysis, funding strategies, business plans and gives delegates a chance to pitch to a panel of investors.

Adrian Braine, entrepreneur in residence of SETsquared’s Basing View hub, said: “This is fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs and start-ups in the Basingstoke area. Those who took part in the previous course have gone from strength to strength and we hope to do the same for our next cohort.”
