IoT Boost 2 off to a flying start with seven tech start-ups set to join the cohort

  • Cerberus Laboratories, Cotham Technologies, Inventyourhome, IoTechnics, Lettus Grow, YoUrban and Zoetrope have been announced as the seven companies joining the Internet of Things (IoT) Boost 2 programme
  • The programme is run by SETsquared Bristol and High Tech Bristol and Bath (HBB)
  • The cohort will receive support as they bring the product to market through mentoring, training, expert advice, and access to business networks

Seven tech companies have been selected to join the second cohort of the Internet of Things (IoT) Boost project, run in partnership with SETsquared Bristol and High Tech Bristol and Bath (HBB).

The successful companies set to join IoT Boost 2 are:

Cerberus Laboratories, are specialist team that offers a range of security software and development services for embedded devices.

Cotham Technologies, founded by Raman Mistry and Dominic O’Neill, whose FloFrame innovative no-code technology provides the easiest and fastest way to build beautiful and powerful native mobile apps.

Inventyourhome, founded by Prankit Gupta and Ankit Seal, is a smart-home design business providing design services relating to home automation, wireless security, lighting, and heating control, all integrated into one integrated system.

IoTechnics, based in Cirencester and Wooton Bassett, build devices, sensors, and physical objects that connect your business.

LettUs Grow design irrigation and control technology for vertical farms. Their aeroponic technology delivers consistently high yields for vertical farms simply, efficiently & sustainably.

YoUrban, are on a mission to support governments and organisations in making the most of new technologies in urban areas.

Zoetrope develops connected solutions and services for the internet of things, helping our clients make fantastic connected products

SETsquared Bristol Centre Director Emma Thorn said:

The companies will benefit from virtual membership with SETsquared Bristol, and we’re pleased to see diverse companies coming through the incubator its programmes, as we drive to increase diversity within the city’s thriving tech scene.”

The IoT Boost programme helps fledgling companies bring the product to market. IoT Boost 2 will provide coaching, mentoring and advisor-in-residence clinics to its members, who will also receive 12-month virtual membership at SETsquared Bristol.

Each entrepreneur will have access to investor readiness training, workshops and business review panels, and the opportunity to use SETsquared Bristol’s extensive business network.

The first cohort of IoT Boost start-ups have celebrated considerable successes over the past year, including HellyHolly’s Lisa Matthews winning the title prize of ‘Best Elevator Pitch’ at 2017 Tech-Xpo for their product, OurCanary, the virtual assistant for working families. Collectively the cohort generated £76k in investment, reached £160k in revenue, created 15 jobs and 11 partnerships.
