With over 90 applications already received, the sift process has already begun with the programme starting on 1st August 2017.

The programme is part of a global project undertaken by Oracle to foster next generation acceleration, tapping into future cloud-based initiatives to drive innovation. Bristol has joined the likes of Sao Paulo, Bangalore, Paris, Tel Aviv and Singapore to deliver the programme.  Five successful applicants will be selected to join with a six-month intense incubation with free credits on Oracle Cloud, world-class mentoring and advising, co-working space, engagement opportunities with Oracle customers and partners and connections to investors.

  • Here in the UK, Oracle is working with SETsquared Bristol to deliver the programme. The global number one incubator has already chalked up success with Oracle through two of its members, YellowDog and Interactive Scientific. Both start-ups use Oracle Cloud as part of their technological offering. Whilst at Interactive Scientific’s Virtual reality solution targeting the education and scientific verticals has powerful user cases demonstrating the power of cloud computing for scientific and educational applications.
  • They are gaining significant interest from other industries like pharmaceutical companies, and are Running Oracle’s Bare Metal Cloud and Becky often speaks with Oracle at Oracle and third-party events.

Commenting on the collaboration, Monika Radclyffe, Centre Director at SETsquared Bristol said:

“Looking at the success of YellowDog and Interactive Scientific, we know that the collaboration between Oracle, one of the world’s biggest tech firms, and start-ups works. The innovation that entrepreneurs bring paired with the expertise from Oracle creates the potential for truly exciting business that has payback for both partners. We’ve been really pleased with how the UK programme has been received and we are looking forward to getting stuck into delivery in mid-summer.”

Marina Traversari, UK OSCA Programme Manager, added:

“It’s not too late to get your application in, even though we have started the sift process. The calibre of applications is fantastic and it is going to be a hard job to whittle it down to five successful candidates. Those five will get the opportunity to interact with other start-ups from across the global project as well as benefit from SETsquared Bristol’s awarding-winning incubation process. We will be announcing the successful applicants soon.”
