The Southampton-based health tech company has entered a partnership with Aire Innovate, bringing its remote monitoring system to the healthcare platform.

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the medical sector sought to explore ways in which it could offer more remote healthcare services. Whether through appointments with your GP via video call or submitting blood pressure readings through your phone, the way the healthcare system provides outpatient care is rapidly evolving.

Lifelight is a game-changing technology that allows a smartphone or tablet device to measure blood pressure, pulse and breathing rate simply by looking into the device’s built-in camera. It works by detecting tiny changes in facial skin tone that occur each time the heart beats. Completely contactless, with no additional hardware needed, it saves healthcare staff time whilst also improving the overall patient experience.

Now, as part of a new partnership with Aire Innovate, Lifelight’s technology will be integrated into the low-code platform used by various NHS Trusts across the country.

Not only are vital signs captured remotely and safely for both the patient and clinician, but medical staff are also able to gain a more holistic view of the patient’s health. Lifelight’s technology can provide the physiological data required for assessing health at a glance, allowing for the most appropriate clinical decision to be made swiftly by professionals.

For patients, it allows them to take control of their health, with access to insights available at the click of a button. Patients can connect to the AireSuite platform securely from the comfort of their own homes, saving time and money whilst also reducing the number of in-person visits for outpatient appointments. With constant reminders of the strain that NHS is under at the moment, this solution has the potential to lead to fewer patients cancelling or missing appointments, freeing up capacity for those who need care the most.
