Open Innovation Open for Business

SETsquared’s Open Innovation Programme has got off to a flying start, with the likes of Barclays, CGI Group, Westpac Bank, Johnson & Johnson, BP Ventures and Airbus, signing up to meet with some of the exciting start-ups from SETsquared’s portfolio.

The Open Innovation Programme aims to help corporate organisations access new technologies, solutions and innovations by brokering relationships with SETsquared’s start-up companies, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs.

Simon Bond, Innovation Director at SETsquared comments: “SETsquared’s Open Innovation Programme is a very attractive prospect for corporates looking to build relationships with innovative smaller companies and start-ups. The introduction process is selective and time efficient, and the Programme is built on SETsquared’s reputation for quality introductions.”

Designed to save time and money, the process for matching corporate partners to start-ups and entrepreneurs, relevant to their innovation interests and technology requirements, is slick and efficient. SETsquared takes a video brief and then circulates it across the five business incubation centres to sift out the expertise required. A one-day event (either virtual or face-to-face) is then organised to bring the corporate partner and start-ups together. Short-listing and contractual negotiations can then take place from there.
