The UK is a pioneer in bringing Quantum Technologies to market backed by serious investment from government and private equity to build a world-class quantum enabled industry.
The industry sectors that are likely to benefit early on are security and defence, space, aerospace, marine, mineral, gas and oil exploration, telecommunication, medical, finance and pharma.
To make this happen, we need to build consortia that include for example the following expertise: quantum physics and engineering, micro-and nanofabrication, photonics, electronics, packaging of devices/components, system design and integration, vacuum engineering, cryogenics, magnetics and many more.
We therefore invite companies which are innovating with quantum technologies, researchers (from the universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey) and consortia (comprised of companies & researchers) to apply for support to develop R&D proposals for the funding call listed below.
Our six scale-up partner universities have extensive expertise and capabilities in quantum, so there are huge opportunities to work with them. For companies which do not have an academic partner in place for a bid, we can make introductions to the appropriate academic teams.
The support that’s on offer to help you build the most compelling bid possible includes: early stage project scoping and evaluation, support from an experienced professional grant writer and critical friend review by an experienced assessor, prior to submission.
