Earlier in November, the Scale-Up team attended the Advanced Engineering Expo at the NEC in Birmingham, taking along a cohort of Scale-Up members. The largest event of its kind, it brings together engineering supply chain professionals from across automotive, aerospace, composites, and manufacturing.

We were there to promote our Scale-Up support in this sector as well as provide a unique opportunity for our members to attend this industry-leading event to meet potential customers and partners.

Beam Connectivity, Wavedrives and Oxford RF Solutions had stands at the event alongside SETsquared, and 8 companies took part in the Enabling Innovation competition, which was eventually won by Scale-Up member Dragonfly Insulation

Dr David Le Jeune, Dragonfly Insulation, said: “Attending the Advanced Engineering Expo with SETsquared, enabled Dragonfly Insulation to engage with potential customers and suppliers that would otherwise have been difficult to reach. It, therefore, provided much-needed exposure as we grow the company. Support is still available to companies looking to bid for the raft of advanced engineering funding calls, which are currently available from the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Innovate UK, the European Space Agency, and the Department for Transport.
