Sustainable Technologies Business Acceleration Hub confirm date for 2-day growth workshop

The Sustainable Technologies Business Acceleration Hub (STBAH) which is a programme dedicated to helping set up and grow a new generation of innovative small firms in the sustainable technologies sector is offering a free 2-day workshop on Monday 8th & Tuesday 9th October at the Engine Shed, Bristol.

The workshop is open to Founders or Directors of growth businesses who are developing products or services in the low carbon or sustainable technology sector. This includes (but is not limited to); renewable energy products or services / sustainable built environment / smart city infrastructure or services / circular economy / sustainable chemical technology / low carbon products or services.

The Growth Workshop is a 2-day Entrepreneurship Programme focused on the key elements of early stage business growth, such as identifying the market opportunity and building a business plan. This will primarily be for very early stage businesses which have been operating for under 12 months.

The workshop is being run by SETsquared who are one of the partners involved with STBAH and is the enterprise collaboration between the universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey and support high tech start-up companies.

Talking about the 2-day workshop, Karen Brooks from the SETsquared partnership who are responsible for the workshop content highlights the benefits to organisations interested in signing up, “The workshop is designed to help organisations assess their business strategy and plan for the next phase of growth.  It is led by experienced coaches and sector specialists so is a great opportunity for early stage organisations to stress test their business and market proposition. They’ll be sessions on investor readiness and discussions on the pitch process.”

Entrepreneur in Residence, for the STBAH programme, Pete Keevill, goes onto say,

“What makes this 2-day workshop unique is that it is sector specific and offers the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from the University of Bath.  The sessions will also include growth planning, legal structures and considerations, market validation and finance options.  The fully funded 2-day workshop programme will cover off a number of key areas so I’d highly recommend organisations reserve their places as soon as possible as numbers are limited.”
