Raising Investment at Global Corporate Venturing
Applicant Criteria

• Applicants are eligible if they are members of one of our SETsquared Business Acceleration Centres (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey), a spin-out or a founder of student-led innovation start-up from a SETsquared partner university with a solid investment plan, or an active member of one the SETsquared sector programmes that received investment readiness support (FWD, HSTEA, UKTIN, Future Economy Fund, Green Futures and Creative Tech for the South West, Cosmic Capital.)
• All applicants need to be endorsed by their local acceleration/incubation manager, commercialisation manager, sector lead/manager.
• All applicants need to have an active investment profile on Envestry (further details will be shared at application stage) to be allowed to the selection process.
• All applicants must be able to demonstrate a clear product-market fit, a strong business model, revenues and solid traction and the potential for continued growth to scale.
• They must be actively looking to raise funds and specifically show an appetite to engage with corporate venturers with a technology portfolio (for collaboration, strategic partnership, investment etc.)
• We are also keen to showcase companies with solutions that can have a social and environmental positive impact.
• Applications are welcomed where the company is looking to raise growth investment. The range of investment sought must be above £750k.
• However, if you’re looking to raise a lower amount of funds but you are actively working on your corporate partnering strategy and have a clear proposition to corporate investors and venturers, please provide the information in the application form as this will be taken into consideration at review stage.
• All sectors are welcomed, however, special focus from the Corporate Venturing Team will be given to robotics, generative AI, energy, and climate so please consider your fit before applying.

If you took part in SETsquared Investment Futures 24 in November 2023 and you think there are good reasons for you to apply for a place on this coming  Investment Showcase at the Global Corporate Venturing Symposium (change of strategy, dramatically different proposition, a new investment round and a fundamentally different investor pitch) please discuss with your local centre manager or SETsquared contacts prior to making the application and make sure your updated application reflects that.
