The Global Corporate Venturing (GCV) Symposium is Europe’s leading corporate venturing and innovation event. SETsquared is giving the opportunity to 20 high-tech ventures raising investment £750K and above to showcase and attend the event for one day free of charge.

On the day, you will have the opportunity to exhibit and meet with influential leaders including corporation innovation, corporate venturing, venture capital, and the wider innovation ecosystem. You can expect attendance of 400+ delegates from 30+ countries.

Participation in this event is free to SETsquared members.

Application deadline on Tuesday 30 April, 12.00.

Why apply for a place to showcase your venture at GCV

If you’re seeking investment for growth, this opportunity will put you on the path to investment success.

By sending your application and taking part in the offline selection panel, you’ll receive invaluable feedback from expert panellists (including external investors and corporate venturers)

Then, if successful, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive guidance to build an effective investment campaign.
  • Be promoted across a significant number of networks of active investors who shape commercial opinion and actively invest in technology ventures. SETsquared’s database includes over 1,500 investors and the team at GCV will run separate marketing campaigns to their databases of investors from the corporate venturing ecosystem who are actively seeking to invest or looking for opportunities for strategic synergies and collaboration with innovative start-ups.
  • Exhibit at GCV Symposium, a high-profile event, attended by a range of investors, commercial technology experts, large technology corporates and venture capitalists.
  • You will be allocated an exhibition stand (including a poseur table and space for a pull-up banner to ensure maximum visibility) and will be able to meet the delegates at the event to further discuss your growth plans, initiate negotiations and get access to extensive knowledge of sectors’ trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • You’ll have an online profile on the SETsquared investment platform, alongside the GCV Symposium event app to further engage and book meetings with delegates before, during and after the event.

Step-by-step guide to the selection process

  1. Once the expressions of interest are assessed against the selection criteria and validated, ventures will be invited to join the Investment platform, Envestry, where they will be given a unique link to their profile to populate with information about their venture. This must include a minimum of a one-page executive summary and 5-minutes pre-recorded investment pitch. Incomplete profile will not be eligible to move to the next stage of the selection process. Envestry profile must be completed by Wednesday 1st May, 09.00. Due to the volume of expression of interests we are not able to provide feedback to the applicants that are not invited to the next stage of the selection process.
  2. Ventures will be assessed based on their Envestry profile by an offline external panel of investors (no live pitch and Q&A.) The aim is to select 20 ventures to attend and showcase at GCV (10 ventures per day.)
  3. Ventures are notified of the outcome of the offline selection panel week commencing 20th May. If successful, ventures will have the opportunity to receive further guidance to hone their investment campaign, build their investment deal and raise their investment profile ahead of GCV. They will also get promotion to a significant number of networks of active investors and corporates.

Who should apply?

Applicants are eligible if they are members of one of our SETsquared Business Acceleration Centres (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey), a spin-out or a founder of student-led innovation start-up from a SETsquared partner university with a solid investment plan, or an active member of one the SETsquared sector programmes that received investment readiness support (The FWD Project, Hydrogen and Sustainable Transport Economy Accelerator, UKTIN, Future Economy Fund, Green Futures and Creative Tech for the South West, Cosmic Capital.)

All applicants must be able to demonstrate a clear product-market fit, a strong business model, revenues and solid traction and the potential for continued growth to scale. They must be actively looking to raise funds and specifically show an appetite to engage with corporate venturers with a technology portfolio (for collaboration, strategic partnership, investment etc.)
