In February 2019, North Somerset Council has declared a Climate Emergency. 3.5 years later, what does this mean for businesses based in the area and how have things changed since then?
Join the team from SETsquared Business Sustainability Programme and North Somerset Enterprise Agency for what is expected to be an enlightening morning and an opportunity for like-minded people to network while discussing Sustainability in North Somerset.
Ask questions to our expert panel as they air their views on sustainability and hear about the innovation happening in North Somerset and plans for the area to support business growth.
Understand how it is possible for your company to start making some changes to reduce your carbon emissions (we can only encourage you to take public transportation to join us at this event) and help create a healthier, happier, greener North Somerset.

Meet the Panel:
Jon Gibbins, Founder, As It Should Be. Jon has a passion for sustainability, accessibility and running ethical businesses. Jon is Founder of As It Should Be which supports organisations to minimise the impact of their digital footprint. Jon also runs the North Somerset Sustainable Business Club.
Mioni Armstrong, Environmental Researcher, Finserv Experts. Mioni is part of the ILLATION.WORLD team aiming to bring affordable and simple carbon-foot printing services to SMEs with a behavioural focus. Mioni holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science with a focus on climate change. Mioni also has an interest in making wicked problems more accessible to the wider public.
Bridget Petty, North Somerset Green Party Councillor: Councillor Bridget Petty is the North Somerset Council Cabinet Member for the Climate Emergency and Engagement. A keen advocate for the business sector taking an active role in transforming the local economy to recognise the challenges of the climate emergency, ensuring the local communities can adapt to change and reduce their role in carbon emissions.
Laurent Perge, Innovation Advisor, University of Bath/SETsquared: Supporting organisations in the area to develop new low-carbon technologies and commercialise proven ones. Stimulating growth and decarbonising the economy and providing opportunities for companies to work with the University of Bath.
Angela Hicks, Chief Executive, North Somerset Enterprise Agency: NSEA supports businesses who want to start up and grow in North Somerset while encouraging them to have a positive social and environmental impact.
