Selecting the companies to exhibit and pitch (all stages are compulsory):

STAGE 1: Date: Application deadline for companies 05 April, 09.00

Once applications are validated, companies will be invited to attend an online pitching session. A maximum of 45 companies will pitch online.

At the online selection session, each company will give a 5-minute pitch to a panel of external investors, corporate venturers and experienced entrepreneurs. A 10-minute Q&A from the panellists will follow each pitch.

The aim is to select the final 20 companies to go forward to the Investment Programme & Campaign.

Please note, all companies chosen through the online selection panel days are required to actively engage in the Investment Programme. This is mandatory to part take in the main event in London on 20 June.

STAGE 2 – Investment Programme & Campaign

This programme is an opportunity for the selected pitching companies to hone their pitching skills, gain feedback from real investors and experienced entrepreneurs and promote their opportunity to over 1,500 angel, venture capitalist and corporate investors and will be showcased on the SETsquared website. There will also be an opportunity to receive further one-to-one pitch refinement and Envestry sessions to perfect their presentation and investment profile ready for the Showcase in London.

All companies selected to pitch at the showcase on 20th June will be required to attend the dress rehearsal on the evening of 19th June, so will require accommodation for the night of 19th at their own cost. Each company will need to bring 1 additional member of their team to the event.

5-minute Pitch Guideline:

What are they looking for in a pitch and what questions do they want answered?

In general, the audience is looking for an overview/snapshot of your value proposition in the time allocated. They are not expecting huge amounts of detail about how your solution works but are interested in the overall business opportunity that you are presenting. As a guide it is recommended that you cover the following questions:

  • The Problem
What is the problem that you are trying to solve?
  • The Solution
What is your solution to that problem?
  • The Opportunity
What is the market opportunity for your solution?
  • The Business Model
Explain how the business model works? How are you going to make money and what investment are you looking for? What social and environmental impact your company will have?
  • The Team
Who are they and what is their relevant experience?
  • The Ask
What do you need in terms of investments?

Questions?

If you have any questions regarding the selection process or investment programme please email [email protected] or call Lea Ediale on 07449 087138.
