Course structure and outcomes

The programme is delivered across three distinct modules. Each module consists of self-paced online learning, including a local case study.

Module 1: Understand the investment landscape

This first module provides a clear map of the start-up funding world. You will learn the language of investors and identify where your venture currently sits on the funding ladder.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Define the different stages of start-up investment, from pre-seed to Series A and beyond.
  • Identify the most appropriate funding sources for your current stage.
  • Recognise the key expectations of investors at each step of the journey.

Module 2: Develop your blended income strategy

Investors want to see more than just a good idea; they want to see a smart financial strategy. In this module, you will learn how to build a realistic plan that blends different income sources to fuel your growth and impress investors.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Understand how grants, sales revenue, and equity investment can work together.
  • Develop a funding strategy that is perfectly aligned with your current stage of development.
  • Identify the critical evidence and traction metrics that investors need to see.

Module 3: Plan your successful investment campaign

Raising investment is a project in itself. This final module breaks down the process into clear, manageable stages. You will learn how to prepare for, run, and close a successful funding round, and you will create a top-level strategy to test with experts.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Map out the essential stages of a successful investment campaign.
  • Prioritise the critical tasks your venture must complete to be truly investor-ready.
  • Articulate a clear, top-level investment strategy for feedback and validation.
