Scale-Up member greyfly.ai set to benefit from Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Southampton

Scale-Up member greyfly.ai has been awarded a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Southampton to enhance the machine learning predictions on its Intelligent Project Prediction (IPP) platform, an AI-driven project management tool.

Co-funded by Innovate UK, KTPs are an established way for a business to bring in new talent and the latest academic thinking to deliver a specific, strategic innovation project to improve their competitiveness and productivity. greyfly.ai received support from the Scale-Up Programme to establish and facilitate the relationship with the academic team at Southampton, with further support provided by the KTP team at the University.

By applying AI, greyfly.ai is transforming project management by improving project success rates and reducing costs. Whilst also providing the rationale for predictions, its proven IPP platform is a portfolio tool that uses AI to predict project outcomes for both live and new projects.  The tool has been successfully used to deliver predictions for a number of large known companies and the company is an approved Government supplier and a preferred supplier to the BBC for programme management.

Through the KTP, they aim to provide stakeholders with a greater understanding of how machine learning predictions are derived, build trust in predictions, increase adoption, and promote human and machine collaboration in decision-making.

Marcia Williams, Chief Product Officer & Co-founder, greyfly.ai said: “Not only will the KTP push forward innovative design of our Intelligent Project Prediction platform, but it will also significantly increase our competitiveness by providing unique insights into why predicted outcomes are derived. We are delighted to have been awarded the KTP and to be working with such an illustrious team from the University of Southampton.”

Nicholas Dacre, Associate Professor of Project Management, University of Southampton said: “This research and knowledge transfer opportunity sits at the very cutting edge of project management predictive analytics by pushing the frontiers of what we know and don’t know, and we are therefore very excited about the possible implications for the project profession”

Whilst PK Senyo, Associate Professor of Information Systems, University of Southampton added: “This project will place greyfly.ai at the forefront of AI in Project Management through the development of innovative platforms that revolutionises the application of AI and natural language processing to enable significant cost reduction in projects”.
