Over the years, SETsquared Bristol has developed a suite of modular training programmes designed to support researchers at every stage of the commercialisation journey, from ideation to venture launch. These programmes have been successfully delivered and refined both within Bristol’s ecosystem and at external research hubs, embedded into existing initiatives or delivered as standalone courses.

As part of our collective commitment to nurturing academic entrepreneurship, we are supporting SETsquared Bristol in sharing these programmes more widely across the network to explore how these resources might be adapted or integrated to strengthen innovation pathways.

Highlights include:

• Explore: An immersive sprint introducing early-career researchers to business fundamentals through research briefs from start-ups.
• Compass: A hands-on programme helping researchers assess and refine the commercial potential of their ideas.
• Wayfinder: A founder-focused series unpacking the realities of start-up life, featuring candid fireside chats with entrepreneurs and investors.
• QUEST: A 12-month venture development journey supporting researchers ready to launch and scale their spin-outs.
